Girl Scout Aquarium Overnight Field Trip

I made these bags out of old pairs of jeans for Izzie and Maddie to sew all their scout patches. I was rushing to get them ready for their first GS Overnight! I didn't get all their patches sewn on, but at least I got a start. (Patches are acquired from attending events or visiting places, badges are earned and are sewn to the uniform.)

After a 3+ hour drive, we made it to the Newport Aquarium. The troop used their cookie sale money to pay for an overnight at the Newport, Oregon Aquarium to sleep with the Sharks. Pretty amazing field trip!

The view I woke up to, after the sleepover!

We got to the aquarium just as it was closing to the public for the night. We got a private tour around the entire place, which was really cool!

Sleeping bags in the shark tunnel.

The next morning we went to tour a lighthouse interactive museum. We did not get to go up in the lighthouse though.

After lunch, we went to the beach. The water is too cold here to swim without a wetsuit, but the girls had fun playing in the sand. It was WINDY.

Rewild Portland Summer Camp

For father's day, John wanted some quiet time so the girls and I took Popo out to a Dim Sum lunch in Portland.

I have been looking for a perfect shelf for John's Lego Minifig collection, but I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So I made one for Father's Day! It came out really well, except for the fact that he's already filled it up so now I need to make another one!

THE BEAST, aka our Wisteria. It sort of looked creepy as it started quickly wrapping itself around the porch light.

 Giggly Maddie.
Time for Rewild Portland Day Camp. This is seriously an amazing camp that allows kids to just be kids and be one with nature. They get to play, explore, invent and just have a messy fun time. They did the Sand and Mud camp again this summer.

After playing from 9-3 they were exhausted each day and I allowed a decompress in front of the tv time.

And of course, as now is tradition, when the girls go away to camp, Bunny and Teddy have a good time without them.

Happy Half Birthday!

For Izzie and Maddie's 7 and HALF birthday, I bought a big fancy cupcake and cut it in HALF. I stuck a candle in it and we sang Happy Half Birthday to you. It was all fun and silly.

I also bought them a new puzzle to put together. Although, Izzie was the only one who got into it this time.
