Viking Studies

Maddie working on Ten Bonds. All the numbers that add up to make ten. We made a bunch of these bracelets awhile ago. You move the colored beads around the white bead to see how to make 10 (or whatever number.) When we made them they could actually slip them on as bracelets but now they are too small!

Carving our names using Viking Runes.

Maddie painting her Rune so that the letters show up better.

We also made a Viking ship out of cardboard.

Izzie and Maddie working together to tape the ship up.

Bunny and Teddy sized ship! We never did get around to making the sail.

We met our friend at a place called Kids Club for them to run off some energy. They'd come out of the play area to check in all red and sweaty, they had a really great time. We definitely plan on going back here to play.

Maddie and Izzie's room used to be the original master to the house, so it has a full bathroom. But it had carpet so I never let them take a shower in their shower. When we moved in they were more into baths anyway, so they used the bathtub in the hall bathroom (their bathroom is shower only, no tub.) But since they are showering more, I decided it was time to get rid of that carpet. Chris helped me a lot, and we pulled back the carpet to find this "lovely" linoleum. We could tell that the original bathroom must have been half linoleum and half this oragny-brown shag carpet!!! (The carpet was in front of the closet portion of the bathroom, there were a few pieces that were tucked under the edging so you could see the original.) We ended up putting down a tile laminate product that looks like bamboo. After pictures later....

More magnet fun. Painting with magnets. This was a BIG hit.

Reading a book together at the library.

Izzie and Maddie pulling our library bag. This was one of my best buys this year. We fill it to the brim pretty much every week!

They made a Lego Family! Popo, Nanna, Momma, Izzie, Maddie and Daddy.
