I've been wanting to visit Art A'La Carte ever since we moved here and when I heard they were having a homeschool day, we finally made time for it! It was a pretty awesome place. It's a buffet of art supplies. You pay for your time and the kids get unlimited use of any of the art supplies they want. Izzie and Maddie about to get started.
Izzie and their friend Brice.

Izzie thinking about what her next project was going to be.
Maddie learning how to use a hot glue gun... which was so much fun for her!

Maddie and Izzie. Izzie just wanted to hang out in her fuzzy socks. :)
And guests! Sophie, Ella, Julia, Ethan, Izzie and Maddie. Brice and Bridgette came too.
Handing out cards.
We played several games. This one they had to cross the floor using two hearts. Hop on a heart, turn around pick up the one behind you, move it in front of you and repeat. I had them on teams and it was a race. They really got into it!
This one was don't break my Achy Breaky Heart. I had a tissue paper heart and they had to make it down the line without ripping it, only holding it with very small clothespins.
I bought a couple of bags of large sweethearts and we timed them to see who could stack them the highest tower in one minute. This ended up being the favorite game and they wanted to do it over and over. Then they just used the sweethearts like building blocks! I also had an art project planned, but by the time we were done with the games, they were ready to just go play in the girls' room for awhile. Which was fine because that gave the grown-ups time to visit! The party was a huge success, and as the kids left they all asked if they could come back again next year.
