The End of 2014

Izzie and Maddie playing with a lego kit they got for Christmas.

Daddy got one too, so he's playing with the girls.

Jake attempting to metamorphose into a butterfly.

Combining a bunch of lego kits to make a lego city.

Izzie. I read this book when I was a kid and loved it. They both enjoy it too.

 Maddie drawing a floorplan.

We took a bit of extra time off at Thanksgiving so, we got right back to school after Christmas. Here we made a homemade compass. It was pretty fun and it actually worked! You rub a needle on a magnet to magnetize it and the float it on a cork in water. The hard part was figuring out which end of the needle was N and which was S. But by investigating the sun in the sky we were able to figure it out. (And double checking with a labeled compass!)

 Sleeping Pug.

 Maddie working on some math.

Toasty toes in front of the fire, eating a snack.

 Izzie, Maddie.

Netflix did a New Years Countdown that they put up so that parents could watch a countdown before their kids bedtime, no matter what time it was. So we took advantage of it! We had family movie night, then watched the short countdown to 2015!!!
