Painting Party

After painting we went inside to play with blocks. (Maddie)

Maddie and Izzie. Maddie wandered around with her brush for awhile, but didn't do much painting. Izzie just liked all the balls.

Future soccor player? (Izzie)

Artist hard at work. Maddie and Izzie shared a paper on the left.

This morning I took the girls to a playdate with the Wylie Mom's Group. Sharon hosted a painting party at her house. Maddie and Izzie have been doing pretty good with colors, but I wasn't sure what they'd think of painting. Basically, they had a good time, but the focus wasn't the paint. They were fascinated with watching all the other kids. They did make a few marks on their paper, but mostly Izzie played with balls, and Maddie played with the toy lawn mower. After painting, we went inside and the girls got to play with blocks, which made them happy. Oh, and Sharon had a mini-chair that was their size and they both liked sitting in it. My girls love chairs. It was interesting to see them in a large group of kids. They play with each other all the time, but they didn't interact with any of the other kids. Most of the kids were older. There was one newborn, which they didn't even notice, a baby about 8 months old and then a little girl, Teaghan, that was 2 months older than them. The only kid they even remotely paid attention to was Teaghan. I was nervous that there would be paint everywhere, but for the most part it wasn't too hard to clean up. I'm glad I went inspite my nervousness, because it was a lot of fun.
