Terrific day

Today has been a wonderful and productive day. The morning started off slow with our usual song and dance. Then around 10:30 mom came over to watch the girls and I got a full hour of cleaning on the upstairs done. I scrubbed the girls bathroom from top to bottom. It really needed a good scrub! I also went through some of the girls clothes and pulled out the outfits that no longer fit. That is a very hard thing to do! One, the clothes keep getting bigger and bigger; my preemies are average size one year olds now. It's still hard to believe! And two, some of those outfits were so cute, I'm not ready to retire them. But it's something that has to be done every few months.

The girls ate lunch at 11:30 this morning, finishing up at noon. Mom was still here, so we played with them and visited for 30 minutes after lunch. When I took them up at 12:30 they went straight to sleep. During naptime I cooked dinner. I had promised to make dinner for one of my neighbors who had a death in the family recently. I wanted to help out as much as I could. I made a cube steak that is braised in stewed tomatoes, green beans and potatoes. If you let it simmer on the stove for a few hours, the whole house smells delicious and the meat just falls apart in your mouth. I steamed some rice to take over there too.

John came home a few minutes early so I could make my eye doctors appointment. I decided I wanted to try contacts out again. I used to wear them off and on, but never regularly. My eyes are dry and contacts always itch. I'm hoping the new brands will work better. The doc seems to think they will, we shall see!

Both Maddie and Izzie have been in high spirits today.
