Day 4, Picnic

When we got back, sure enough... here are the sandwiches that got left behind...

Here we are enjoying our picnic sans sandwiches. Food or not, we manage to have a great time!

Today the family went on a very interesting picnic. The day started out semi-lazy. The girls had a jammy morning with John, while I went to sit in the hot tub with Tom. It was pretty chilly and the hot tub felt great! Apparently while I was soaking in the hot tub, the girls went down for an early morning nap. They woke up just as I got back. And they were fussy. They were so congested, I felt so bad for them! We finally ended up giving them some tylenol and once that kicked in, life was much better all around.

Well, for the afternoon we had a picnic planned for down on the Lake Tahoe at the Hellman-Erhman mansion. Julie, Tom, C
hris and I went to pick up Subway Sandwiches for everyone. Tom bought his and Jackie's sandwich, I bought mine and John's and Julie and Chris got orders for everyone else. When we got back to the condo everyone jumped in cars and headed off to the picninc spot. It was about an hour drive away. As soon as we drove into the parking lot, Julie jumped out of her car and opened the trunk. Then she got really upset. Larry thought she left Sammy back at the condos. It turned out that she left the sandwiches. It really ended up to not be a big deal, but we had fun giving her a hard time about it. We enjoyed walking around the property. We took the girls down to the pier. The water of Lake Tahoe is so clear you can see all the way to the bottom. I took a picture of some rocks under the water and you can't even see the water!

After walking around for a bit, we decided to make some picnic magic. There were 12 people and 3 foot long Subway Sandwiches. Jackie said she was going to re-enact the fishes and loaves scene from the bible. She did a pretty convincing job. She had a bag in the van that had chips and dip and a peanut butter sandwhich or two. Somehow, everyone got plenty to eat.

Now we are just hanging out at the condo. The weather is turning colder this afternoon.
